• Lyndi holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and two teaching credentials. She is currently on her 13th year of experience in the California public school system as a special education related service provider. Over the course of her ongoing career, Lyndi has (and continues to) closely collaborated with School Psychologists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Adapted PE Specialists, RNs and LVNs, school administrators, instructional aides, and academic teachers.
• Lyndi has participated in and played a vital role in over a thousand IEPs over the course of her ongoing career, spanning over 3 separate public school districts within California. Being a service provider offers an added advantage when supporting parents with IEPs. Lyndi is able to provide insight on how and when services can be offered, how student goals need to be written to be measurable and clear, how services should be specified in the IEP to ensure they accurately reflect what was agreed upon, and what would indicate an increase or decrease in services.
• Lyndi also understands the importance of education laws and parent rights, and is passionate about giving parents law citations so you can become more confident in navigating the public school system. Special Education laws and IEP procedures are a complicated matter and can become overwhelming for families. At Next Steps Advocate, Lyndi aims to help empower parents to be the voice for their child’s educational success.
